Trinity Beach gets behind the starting line

Just down from Trinity Beach, Palm Cove will be sounding the starting gun for a renewed Ironman Competition this June. After taking on board participant and spectator feedback, organisers have opted to move the starting line and subsequent swim leg to  Palm Cove – just 10 minutes from Trinity Beach and handy to guests staying at Coral Sands Beachfront Resort.

Over 3,000 competitors are registered for the 2014 Ironman series of events when it returns to Cairns, and preparations are underway to make this one of the most exciting events in beautiful tropical North Queensland.

While adjustments have also been made to other sections of the Ironman course, including the run and bike legs, there is significant buzz from organisers and competitors with the new swim leg and starting point.

Local Cairns triathlete Nick Carling, has even commented “it [the race starting point], will be awesome for spectators on the beach there”. Given the participants sense of excitement – it has certainly rubbed off, and now, we here at Coral Sands can’t wait to welcome this exciting event to the northern beaches of Cairns.

Given the proximity to the newly redesigned 2014 Ironman course, Coral Sands will be welcoming various participants, supporters and spectators; so don’t miss out on some of the most convenient and comfortable accommodation. Here at Coral Sands Beachfront Resort in Trinity Beach, we’d love to welcome you too!
